“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life.”
Sun or rain, storm or calm, summer or winter….a tree stands in complete stillness - surrendering to everything and accepting everything as a gift. Just like a tree, when we surrender to the different seasons of our life, when we accept every situation in stillness, we begin our journey to discover peace.
Good-bad, heaven-hell, right-wrong, masculine-feminine, dark-light, calm-chaotic….boy don’t we live in this world of duality! We tend to separate and judge everything as black or white. If a person is good, he can’t be bad. If he is wrong, he cannot be otherwise. I am a woman, I have to be feminine. But isn’t duality two sides of the same coin? Our whole life we battle with this duality, one side trying to win over the other – not only in this world but within our own self. But once we begin to accept everything as a WHOLE, we begin to realize we need both, in fact WE ARE BOTH.
"Right now I am what I am and I don't know what I am going to be like tomorrow.
I too will know it only when tomorrow comes."
~ Krishna in Bhagavad Gita
Doga is my brother's dog and we have been watching him for a few months now. I never ever had a pet in my life so having him around has been quiet an experience (and sometimes a challenge :o)) Its hard to know sometimes whether I am training him or he is training me! Neverthless, he is no doubt an adorable dog. I am actually learning a lot from him! So I decided to start dogA doodles~ cute little sayings that we tend to forget in the midst of our busy life.... :o)
Every morning, looking out of my office window while sipping a cup of freshly brewed coffee and watching the rays of light breakthrough the night sky….yes that is my simplest pleasure. It fills my heart with gratitude and reminds me of my place in this universe. How fortunate I am to be here to witness these beautiful moments and be a part of it. How many years I have lost trying to keep up with my to-do list and goals and never ending deadlines. How much I have taken life for granted. But here I am – now, at this moment, smiling as I watch the sunrise. After all it does not matter how many years I have lost. What matters the most is just this moment – the moment of pure joy.
